Remember Pudhiya Varpugal, the yesteryear blockbuster directed by veteran Bharathiraja with his disciple K Bhagyaraj in the lead.
Bhagyaraj, who strongly believes that it was that title to give him a break, is now all set to start a film with the same title, foraying his son Shanthanu as the hero.
Produced under Bhagyaraj’s own banner KBR Medias Pvt Ltd for Moserbaer, debutant Shanthini is venturing as the heroine.
Says Bhagyaraj, ‘at first, we considered the titles Azhichatiyam and Chella Chinungal for the movie. Later we felt that Pudhiya Varpugal will be apt. I immediately approached Bharathiraja and got his consent.’
