Quiet reflecting its title, the release date of Puli Varudhu played a hide and seek, one can say. At last, the film is all set to hit theatres by this weekend. With Jithan Ramesh and Mallika Kapoor in lead roles, the movie is directed by debutant GV Kumar.
Ramesh, who is very much optimistic about the movie says the film will be a roaring success, thus taking his career to greater heights. 'It is a hilarious entertainer. The movie is set around events that occur in a wedding in a rural village,' says he.
However, there is a buzz in Kollywood that the stories of Puli Varudhu and Vijay starrer Azhagia Tamil Magan are same. It is said that the story of Puli Varudhu too revolve around a youth who has Extra Sensory Perception (ESP).
When asked director Kumar, he said, 'I conceived Puli Varudhu almost a couple of years ago. No matter if the storylines are inspired by the same theme, it all depends on how we present it on the screen', he said.
Srikanth Deva is scoring music for the movie, with a huge star cast comprising Manivannan, Karunas and Saranya acting in pivotal roles. The film is produced by ELK Antony.
