For a cause - Achacho

Think about a village where the ratio of boys to girls is 24:5. Debutant director V S Balraj has taken this as the knot and has fought against some of the meaningless rituals followed in villages, through Achacho.

Thalaivasal Vijay, playing the chief of the village is very strict in customs, which ensures that no boy or girl in the village marry an outsider. This makes the male-female ratio to go down and irk youngsters. Meanwhile, hero Srihari comes to the village as a jeweler and falls in love with Priyasri. Breaking all the customs, did the pair join hands forms the finale.

As many as 24 debutants had tested Kollywood waters through Achacho.Appreciable is the performance of hero Srihari and heroine Priyasri, apart from others. Though Achacho has got a good theme, logical potholes in the film makes it hard to survive in the second half.

Director V S Balraj has come with a novel story with new faces in all lead roles. His guts to handle such a bold knot are laudable, indeed. Let us wish him all success in his future endeavors.

Achacho – Debutants mela.
