Tickling the funny bone - Cheena Thaana 007

Chenna Thaana 007 is the latest to join the long list of films being remade to Tamil from other languages. Directed by veteran T P Gajendran, the film is the Tamil version of Malayalam blockbuster CID Moosa, which created waves in Kerala with Dileep in the lead role.

The film revolves around Prasanna, whose ambition is to join in the police force. With his uncle Manivannan, who is also a police offer, not allowing him to do so, Prasanna starts a detective agency along with Vadivelu. Meanwhile, a gang tries to finish off the Governor. How Prasanna breaks their attempt forms the crux.

After acting in monotonous roles, Cheena Thaana is a break for Prasanna. He has tried his level best to establish himself in comedy. Sheela too tries to live up to the expectations, but she has nothing much to do in this film. However, one person who maintains the tempo of the entire film is Vadivelu, as he is the one who occupies the centrestage in the screenplay.

Manivannan's experience is viable in screen. Livingstone, Kazan Khan, Riyaz Khan and Muthukalai are also there in the movie. After a short break, Deva has come out with some foot tapping numbers. The movie is surely a positive addition in the records of T P Gajendran.
