All in the game - Chennai 600028

Taking the knot from the management mantra ‘Think global, Act local’, director Venkat Prabhu has come out with Chennai 600028, a film that revolves around Gully cricket played between two local teams.
Tapping the energy and exuberance of the youth, the movie also throws light on their ambition and never ending passion for the sport. To this end, Chennai 600028 speaks about Sharks and Rockers, two local cricket teams.

Leading Sharks team is Karthik (Mirchi Siva). The ambition of the whole Sharks team is to defeat their opponent Rockers. Meanwhile, Karthik falls in love with his friend Arun’s (Nithin Sathya) sister, which splits the team. Whether the team united again and did they succeed in their mission forms the crux of the movie.

Banking heavily on new faces, producer S P B Charan and Venkat Prabhu deserve pat for their guts. All the debutants including Mirchi Siva, Vijayalakshmi (director Agathiyan's daughter), Jai (Deva's younger son) and Premji Gangai Amaran (Gangai Amaran's son) fit their roles to a T. Similar are the performances of Aravind, Prasanna, Cristine and a host of other newcomers.

Yuvanshankar's music and Sakthi Saravanan's camera gives enough support to the movie. In short, the movie is Venkat Prabhu’s answer to those disappointed by the world cup defeat.
