All about a common man - Evano Oruvan

‘It’s about you’. This is the tagline of Evano Oruvan, which appears in all its promos and advertisements. Proving this, the film is all about day to day travails faced by an ordinary citizen in his life.

In a sense, almost every one of us would have undergone the problems of Sridhar Vasudevan (Madhavan). With his wife (Sangeetha) too is talking ill of him, how he opposed it single handedly? Does he emerge victorius or not forms the crux of the film.

The story is nothing new to Tamil cinema, as we are seeing it right from Sathya to Gentleman to Indian to Mudhalvan. But, Marathi director Nishikanth Kamath has taken this film close to reality, thus winning laurels.

A honest remake of Dombivili Fast, Evano Oruvan lags in the second half in terms of screenplay. However, the musical score of GV Prakash and Sameer upholds the film to a large extent.

Madhavan, who emerged as a producer with the film, has passed the litmus test in his first experiment. He deserves a shot in the arm for coming out with a quality movie, without compromising with commercial aspects.
