MOZHI - Review

Prakashraj is one of the rare breed in Tamil cinema whose heart beatsfor sensible and realistic films. Living up to his reputation, producer Prakashraj in the company of Radha Mohan has dished out an interesting fare in Mozhi.

The title is quite synonymous with sound and noise. But in the contrary, the director has woven the script around a dumb and deaf girl played by Jothika.

All marks to Jothika. The experienced actress has taken a challenging role and has come up all trumps. Having utilised the opportunity well, Jothika emotes and conveys all through her expressions. Be it her joy, sorrow or disappointment, Jothika has delivered everything without dialogues, which is no easy task.

Prithviraj has put in his sincere efforts to live up to the role that he has donned on the screen. Prakashraj has preferred to play the second fiddle. Playing Prithvi's friend, his character has been etched in a humourous way. Swarnamalya as Jothika's friend is impressive.

The movie is set around two musicians Karthick (Prithviraj) and Vijayakumar (Prakashraj). Karthick comes across Archana (Jothika). Love blossoms instantly.

In contrast, Archana loves to lead an independent life and a bad past leave in her a hatred for the opposite sex.

With the help of Sheela (Swarnamalya), both Karthick and Vijayakumar manage to get acquainted with Archana. Karthick takes several attempts to woo Archana but all fizzles out. The rest is how he convinces her with the help of Sheela and Vijayakumar to hold his hands.

Vidyasagar has come up with stunning tunes and catchy re-recording.
props up the emotions on screen.

Mozhi conveys thousand meanings.
