After proving himself as a successful director inTelugu cinema with his mass entertainer 'Mass', Ragava Lawrence has come out with 'Muni' for the Tamil masses, of course in a triumphant way.
It has been a long time for Tamil cinema to witness such a racy, fast phased thriller with all necessary commercial ingredients. And Lawrence's efforts to prove himself as a director cum hero cum choreographer are quite visible in each and every angle of the movie. The story is all about a do-gooder Muni's spirit (Raj Kiran)
which had entered hero Ganesh's (Lawrence) body to teach lessons to a wicked politico (Dhandapani). Ganesh is a bubbly youngster, taking life in its way.
After shifting his family to a haunted house, Ganesh happens to know that it is the place where the mortal remains of Muni are put to rest. Within no time, Muni's spirit enters into Ganesh to take revenge of the politician. Remaining things revolves on how coins are being moved by Muni and Ganesh to win in the game.Nothing can be talked much about 'Muni' without saying something about the performance of Raj Kiran, as it was this big gun to shine in the screen thanothers. He leads the way with his excellent performance. Lawrence, after his not so successful attempts as a hero in 'Paarthale Paravasam' and 'Arputham', emerged as a winner in 'Muni' in the dual roles of actor and director. Vedika, as Lawrence's wife has very limited scope to perform.Dhandapani understood his character well and lived up to it. The movie also has a huge star cast including the likes of Vinu Chakravarthy, Kovai Sarala and Rahul Dev. In addition,
Bharadwaj's music goes well with the movie. Director Saran's guts to make a novel attempt as a producer are really laudable.Muni - Making money from the fear factor.
