Thankar Bachan, who came out with the story of a school in Pallikoodam has opted to convey thereason behind the hardship faced by eldersthrough Onbathu Roopai Nottu.
However, the film fails to create the impact as compared to the one it created as a novel, which is penned by Thankar himself.
The story is about Madhavar Padayachi (Sathyaraj), a big landlord. and his wife Velayi (Archana). The couple has three sons. A tussle between the father and sons make Madhavar and Velayi to go out of their home. They goes to the house of Hajabhai (Nasser) who is a longtime friend of Madhavar. Did they go back to heir hometown and did they rejoin with their sons forms the crux.
Sathyaraj and Archana have done a commendable job. Similar are the performances of Nasser and Rohini, who dons the role of Kameela, Hajabhai's wife.
The song 'Margazhi' by Bharathwaj is a nice melody. Lengthy sequences in many places test the patience of the audience. Thankar, who also handled camera for the film, has succeded as a cinematographer, than as a director. Onbathu Rubai Nottu- Soiled satir
