Trade pundits of Tamil cinema normally say there are only seven knots under which each and every film could be classified. However, they also add that it is the screenplay to show the difference from one movie from the other. Proving this, Thiru Ranga too comes with a usual story line, but its unusual treatment of screenplay makes the film to stand unique among others.
The story revolves around Santhosh, a gangster working under Nasser and Ankitha, a leading film star. With both Nasser and his rival develop affinity towards Ankitha, Nasser deputes Santhosh to bring Ankitha. However, Santhosh changes his mind after hearing the story of Ankitha and the both fall love with each other. How Santhosh saved Ankitha from the baddies and did the duo win in their love forms the crux.
Santhosh tried to utilize the opportunity while Ankitha makes her comeback after 'London'. Nasser's expertise in doing such kind of roles makes his task easy. Srikanth Deva's music supports the movie to an extent.
Directed by debutant Bhargavan and produced by Selvi, Thiru Ranga has somewhat managed to attract audience, even the film sans big star-cast.
