Movies celebrating urban love are not new to Tamil cinema. But, how far they are successful in their mission is an unsolved puzzle. Films based on three-cornered love stories are not new to Kollywood. But, except a few, how far they have reached the audience is still a question . Surprisingly, Jeeva has answer to all these queries and it is nothing but his latest flick Unnale Unnale.
The cameraman turned director triumphantly travels in both his boats throughout the movie. From the streets of India to the milieu of Melbourne, the camera and screenplay of Jeeva emerges as a successful joint venture, by aptly showing his love towards making love stories.
Karthik (Vinay) is a typical fun loving software guy with freaky attitude. He makes love with every second girl he meets by the self styled ways of his own. One day, he meets Jhansi (Sadha), a pretty girl but mirror opposite with the ideologies of Karthik. Satisfying the law, opposite poles attract each other. But as it happens, they also repel out for obvious reasons and Jhansi leaves for Melbourne to pursue higher studies.
Fate works in a strange way and drives Karthik too to Australia on an official assignment. On his way, Karthik meets Deepika (Tanisha) in the flight. Not so surprisingly, the modern girl fits with the attitude of Karthik and wants to play a cupid role between Karthik and Jhansi after knowing their story. However, Deepika too is attracted by the vibrancy of Karthik.
The suspense is well maintained till the end with felicitous adroitness to let you know the decision of Karthik on which girl to walk the aisle with. This helps you to sit glued to the seat.
Being a new face, Vinay fits tailor-made to the character. In many scenes, he puts us in a doubt whether he is really a debutant. Karthik has a bright future in the industry, only if he makes the right moves. Playing a role of a HEIDI (highly educated, independent, degree-carrying individual), Sadha is good in her expressions in expecting Vinay to be a good Ladult (modern day guys who have no problems in mending themselves as per the expectations of girls). On the other hand, Tanisha, is as energetic as her sister Kajol.
Jeeva tells the story organically without pushing it. Harris Jeyaraj, who always has special tunes in store for Jeeva has lived up to the expectations, not only in songs but also in backgrounds.
Jeeva might have missed the bus in 12B, or might have failed to hear success tone due to the delayed release of Ullam Ketkume. But, Unnale Unnale will make him to reach his audience. Unnale Unnale – For you(th).
