Fast and fairy Vegam

The latest to join the long list of star kids making a beeline to Kollywood is Ashwin, son of actor turned politician S Ve Shekher. However, the fresh face passes the litmus test, with the help of the training he underwent in dance and martial arts.

Inspired by Hollywood flick Cellular, Vegam is a mass masala entertainer. The film, which starts in Chennai takes off to Malaysia where the hero had to undergo several trails before tasting success. Though the storyline seems to be usual, the narration of director Udayashankar makes the film interesting.

Karthik (Ashwin), who runs an event management company in Chennai goes to Malaysia in search of his girlfriend Archana. There he receives a call on his cellphone from Selvi (Kushboo), stating that a gang has kidnapped her demanding a video clip shot by her husband (Venu Aravindh). Meanwhile, he also gets the help of a honest police officer (Prabhu) in his mission. Did Ashwin finds her lover or did he save Selvi from the danger forms the crux.

Ashwin plays the role at ease. The guidance given to him by his father S Ve Shekher is visible in the film. Tollywood actress Archana plays a normal heroine. Prabhu and Kushboo fits well to their characters. In addition, Shekher too plays a cameo.

The screenplay of Shekher makes the film more racy. Rajesh Vaidhya brings surprise to the audience with his catchy and peppy tunes. Vegam, running for two hours is a treat to those longing for an action packed entertainer.

Vegam- Racy tale.
