Sultanpur, Nov 20 : A day after a country-made bomb exploded in the District Court, the recovery of a cracker from an Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Court here today not only created panic among the people, but also left the police and security sleuths in a tizzy.

The cracker was recovered from the witness-box of the ACJM (I) Mahendra Nath's court. Earlier, police suspected it to be a bomb, but later the cops confirmed it a cracker.

The information spread like a wildfire in the court premises and added to the furore of the advocates, who later boycotted work and went on a strike.

The irked lawyers also called a meet with the Bar Assocation to decide upon the further startegy.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) (Eastern) Santosh Kumar Singh said the security had been tightened in the court compound.

Besides local policemen, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and one unit of Local Intelligence Unit (LIC) on the spot, the cop informed.

Yesterday, a low intensity bomb had exploded at a room, just in front of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Umesh Prakash's chamber here, where some electricity equipments were kept.

No one was injured in the explosion, Superintendent of Police (SP) D C Mishra had said and termed it a 'mischievous act.' Anti-bomb disposal squad and senior police and administrative officals had rushed to the spot soon after the incident.

A similar low intensity countrymade bombs had exploded in succession in Lucknow on November 14, 15 and 16 last.

On November 14 and 15, explosions had occurred in lower court premises, while the next day the country made bomb had exploded in Aishbagh area of the state capital.

Two minor rag picker girls had sustained injuries in the third blast.
