Gulbarga, Nov 20 : Robbers snatched jewels worth Rs 55,000 from two women passengers in Chennai-bound Dadar express in the early hours today.

The Railway Police said the train halted at Ganagapur, about 20 km from here. Five to seven thieves boarded S-1 and S-5 coaches, snatched jewels from G Kamalabai, hailing from Chennai and Vasanta Kate of Pune and escaped with booty.

Based on a complaint from the victims, cases had been registered and investigation was underway to trace the miscreants.
