AIADMK general secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will tour the Pudukottai Assembly constituency on 9 June to campaign for her party nominee V R Karthik Thondaiman.
According to a release from the AIADMK headquarters, the Chief Minister will campaign at nine places in the constituency on Saturday.
The 12 June by-election was necessitated by the death of CPI legislator P Muthukumaran in a road accident on 1 April .
DMK and other important political parties are not facing the electoral challenge, while the DMDK has fielded its candidate. A total of 20 candidates are in fray for the by-election to Pudukottai Assembly seat in Tamilnadu as the last date for withdrawal of nominations ended Monday last. |
