T Srinath, student of P R Public Higher Secondary Schoool, Thanjavur secured first rank in the SSLC examination results which were announced in Chennai today. He scored 497 out of 500.
A total of six students secured second rank (496/500) and eleven students (495/500) settled for third rank.
According to an official press release from Government Examinations director D Vasundaradevi, the overall pass per centage has increased bcompared to last year and the number of students scoring centums have increased manifold.
Also, the results for Matriculation, Anglo-Indian and OSLC were announced today. And, as has been the trend in recent years, girls continued to outshine boys.
A total of 10,50,922 students appeared through schools and the pass percentage was 86.20 per cent overall. Last year, it was 85.30 per cent.
The pass percentage of girls was 88.90 per cent per cent compared to boys (83.40 per cent ). Last year, it was 88.10 per cent and 82.30 per cent respectively.
5,68,815 students secured first class. Number of centums in Mathematics was 1,141, Science 9,237 and Social Science ( history and Geography) 5,305.
Anjala Beegum of DAV MHSS, Ponneri secured 497 marks. However her first language was Sanskrit. Ramya (St Michael's MHSS. Adyar) also secured 497 (her first language was French) and Mitisha Surana (Agarwal Vidyalaya MHSS, Vepery) managed 497 marks and her first language was Sanskrit. |
