In a surprise move, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalithaa Wednesday decided to drop senior minister K.A. Sengottaiyan and induct Thoppu N.D.Venkatachalam into her cabinet. He was also removed from party posts.
The dropping of Sengottayan has come as a sudden move as he is a senior Minister in the Cabinet as well as a party functionary.
According to sources, the decision (to drop Sengottaiyan) by Jayalalithaa was a disciplinary action, as some serious complaints were made against Sengottaiyan in the recent times.
It is said that AIADMK office bearers from west zone recently called on Jayalalithaa at Kodanadu and submitted a memorandum against Sengottaiyan, with 'evidences'.
Also it is said other complaints were received against the senior leader from certain 'reliable sources'.
