June 9, 2012: AIADMK supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today requested the people of Pudukottai to make her party candidate Karthik Thondaiman taste a thumping victory in the June 12 by-election, by making candidates of other parties to lose deposits.
Addressing a campaign meeting in Pudukottai, she recalled the various achievements of her government in the past one year. Reiterating her vision to make Tamil Nadu the numero uno State in the country in all aspects, Jayalalithaa said power cuts would go away soon.
"Though we have managed so many achievements in just one year, I am aware that you (public) are little worried about power cuts. The reason for electricity outages was the previous minority DMK regime, which did not take any steps to improve power generation," she said.
Listing out various measures taken by her government to give a boost to electricity generation in Tamilnadu, Jayalalithaa said power cuts would go away soon.
