Floods hit west Wales in Britain, 50 rescued

London, June 9 Dozens of people have been rescued in Britain after flood waters inundated several areas in the country.

About 50 holidaymakers were rescued from a flooded riverside caravan park Saturday after serious flooding in west Wales, Daily Mail reported.

Helicopters and life boats were called to the park in Llandre, near Aberystwyth, where people needed help.

Dozens of people were also saved from torrents of overnight rain in Aberystwyth, with nine airlifted to safety due to the deluge of water.

Dramatic scenes even saw a rescue crew require airlifting themselves, after becoming stranded while attempting to save others from the torrents of water, the newspaper said.
