Two DMK MLAs sworn in

Dec 26, 2009: Anitha Radhakrishnan and J Kamalakannan, who won the Assembly bypolls held for Tiruchendur and Vandavasi seats respectively on DMK tickets, were sworn-in as MLAs today.

They took oath before Assembly Speaker R Avudaiappan in Chennai, in the presence of Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin, Ministers Arcot N Veeraswami, E V Velu, M R K Panneerselvam, Suresh Rajan, T M Anbarasan and Poongothai Aladi Aruna.

Deputy Speaker V P Duraisamy and Assembly Secretary M Selvaraj were present. Also present were Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K V Thangkabalu and Congress Floor Leader in the Assembly D Sudharsanam.

The strength of DMK in the Assembly is now 99 including Speaker Avudaiappan.
