Dec 26, 2009: Elaborate arrangements are being made by the authorities at Sri Parthasarathy Swamy Temple at Triplicane in view of the Vaikunta Ekadasi festival on December 28.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, the temple's Deputy Commissioner Jayaraman said the Sorga Vaasal would be opened at 4.30 am. The authorities have made arrangements to distribute a free laddu for every devotee visiting the temple on that day.
There will be an exclusive counter to provide necessary information on the proceedings. Display boards would be set up on the entrance and exit routes of the temple.
Devotees across the globe can watch entire celebration live on the temple website www.sriparthasarathyswamytemple.org. MTC would run special buses from various places to the temple. The authorities are expecting around 70,000 people on the day.
The Ekadasi is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is observed in the Tamil month of Margazhi.
